Runners Knee – What is causing your pain? Part 1
There is nothing more frustrating than having an injury that is stopping you from running, especially when you are not sure what is causing the problem. This is directly related to the unknown that is connected to this, if you don’t know what the injury is then how can you possibly improve the problem and get back to the sport you enjoy.
Today we look a one of the two commonly named Runners Knee injuries to get to the bottom of what is happening and help you identify if this is connected to your knee injury. To help you we will discuss the common types of pain you may experience, how to help settle the pain down and then where to start in settling your pain down so you can get back to running.
Remember that settling the pain is only part of the journey, and you must always consider how you resolve the underlying issues to prevent recurrence. This should involve looking up and down the chain, thinking hip movement and strength along with foot and ankle mobility and stability, and it might be even further afield.
